December 2009 - Two years in the making, "Honestly" was worth the wait. Emotional ballads intermingled with spirited upbeat songs complete a recording that has already garnered industry recognition. "Something Beautiful" was a finalist in the 2009 Mountain Stage New Song competition, and Nancy's performance of "Honestly" made her vocalist of the month with Singer Universe. "It Finally Took Losing You to Find Me" was co-written with Grammy Award winner Jon Vezner, and recorded in Nashville, TN, and will strike a chord with anyone who has grieved the ending of a relationship. The celtic influenced song, "When the Last Whistle Blows" tells the story about the closing of the paper mill in Nancy's hometown of Cornwall, Ontario, and features fiddler Brian Buchanan of 'Enter The Haggis'. "Hard Times", co-written with country artist Dawn Kenney, speaks to the hardship families are facing in the U.S. housing market. Nancy also had the amazing experience of working with Grammy Award winning artist Kathy Mattea. Kathy demoed "One Step Closer than Yesterday", a poignant ballad about the tragic death of friend Carole Larouche, and her version of the song can be heard on Nancy's MySpace page. "Honestly" is a CD that chronicles life experience with beautifully crafted songwriting.
